Q: What is the race route?
A: This course is certified (#IN 08001 MW), please
click here to see maps of the race route. The route takes you on a nice stroll thru the North side of campus, so lace your tennis shoes up and let's hit the pavement!
Q: How do I register for The Challenge and what is the cost?
A: On line: Visit
our online registration form to register online. It's simple and fast!
By mail:: Check back in January 2012 for form
In person: Visit the Purdue Center for Cancer Research, on Purdue's campus at 201 South University Street, room 141.
At the Race: Come to the registration site, North end of Ross-Ade on April 13th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm or April 14th (race day!) from 7:00 – 8:15 am.
Prices: $20 for students and $25 for non-students until April 2nd, 2012. After that all prices will be $30 per person.
Q: How long is the race?
A: The Challenge is a 5k, so it is about 3.1 miles. A great walk OR run for anyone!
Q: Where does the money go?
A: ALL money raised goes to support cancer research at the Purdue Center for Cancer Research. Thanks to our wonderful sponsors, we are able to put 100% of the money raised back to support our research. For more information,

Q: Where can I park on race day?
A: There is parking in the Ross-Ade football parking lot, North end. You can also park on campus in most parking garages and on the street. The Spring football game and Spring Fest are also happening on race day, so park your car and get ready for a fun filled day!
Q: What if it rains on race day?
A: The Challenge will happen rain or shine so come prepared to have fun in all weather conditions. No refunds will be given due to bad weather.
Q: Can I bring my pet to the race?
A: Sorry, no pets allowed at the race. We understand most dogs are friendly and would love to walk with owners, but for liability of others, no animals are permitted on the race route.
Q: Are strollers allowed? Are there any other children's activities on race day?
A: Yes, kids of all ages are invited to join the Challenge! Since this is a timed race, we ask that strollers be kept toward the back of the start of the race. There are many kids activities that can be enjoyed after the race at Spring Fest an at the Spring Football game. For a detailed list of Spring Fest events,

Q: Where and when can I pick up my t-shirt and registration packet?
A: Shirts and registration will be available for pick-up on Friday, April 13th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the North end of Ross-Ade Stadium. They will also be available on Saturday April 14th from 7:00 – 8:15 am. It's recommended you pick your items up Friday if possible to avoid getting backed up before race time.
Q: When is the last day for ONLINE registration?
A: The last day for original prices for ONLINE registration is April 2nd, at midnight. After that, all registration fees will be $30. Online registration will be closed April 7th. After that you will need to come to the registration site to sign up.
Q: Can people sign up for the Challenge after April 2nd?
A: Yes, you can still sign up, but all registration fees will be $30. You can visit the Purdue Center for Cancer Research or come to registration on April 13th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm or April 14th from 7:00 – 8:15 am at the North end of Ross-Ade stadium.
Q: What other Purdue events are happening on race day?

Q: Is there anything special for cancer survivors?
A: We are recognizing cancer survivors by having you pick up a gold t-shirt at registration (must be pre-registered to guarantee shirts). This will convey to all that you are a proud cancer survivor. Simply indicate this on your registration form and your shirt will be ready at registration. There are also "In Memory Of" and "In Honor Of" bibs you can fill out and wear during the race. They are available at registration.
Q: What is the Cuonzo Martin Challenge Award?
A: The Cuonzo Martin Challenge Award is in honor of former men's basketball player and coach, Cuonzo Martin. Coach Martin battled cancer and is a survivor and advocate for cancer research. This award goes to the Purdue student organization that has the highest percentage of participation in the Challenge. This includes walking, running, and volunteering. For more information

Q: What is the Danny Hope Community Challenge Award?
A: The Danny Hope Award is in honor of head football coach Danny Hope and his commitment to the community. This award goes to the non-student group (community groups, church groups, tailgating groups, mom's groups…any group not registered as a Purdue student is welcome and encouraged to sign up…it's free! The group with the highest percentage of participation in the Challenge is the winner. This includes walking, running, and volunteering. For more information

Q: Is there food, drinks and restrooms?
A: Yes, Yes, and YES! We will have yummy, nourishing food and drinks for you after the race. And guess what, these are free to participants too! Restrooms in the stadium will also be available for you to use before, during, and post race.
Q: Are there awards?
A: Yes there are! Real, gold plated medals. Well not really, but we have medals for the top three finishers in each age category. These will be given to men and women. If you don't know which group you are in, just guess when you register and we'll figure it out.
